Web of Science是最权威的引文数据库，由七个数据库组成，内容包含来自数以千计的学术期刊、书籍、丛书、报告及其他出版物的信息。其中Arts & Humanities Citation Index 是针对艺术和人文科学期刊文献的多学科索引。

世界上最有影响的大型医学文摘数据库之一，因在荷兰出版，又名荷兰医学文摘。由在阿姆斯特丹1946年建立的一个国际性非营利机构医学文摘基金会（The Excerpta Medica Foundation）编辑出版，1947年创刊。现由爱思唯尔科学出版社编辑出版。 EMBASE, the Excerpta Medica database, produced by Elsevier Science, is a major biomedical and pharmaceutical database indexing over 3,500 international journals in the following fields: drug research, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, toxicology, clinical and experimental human medicine, health policy and management, public health, occupational health, environmental health, drug dependence and abuse, psychiatry, forensic medicine, and biomedical engineering/instrumentation. There is selective coverage for nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, psychology, and alternative medicine. EMBASE is one of the most widely used biomedical and pharmaceutical databases because of its currency and in-depth indexing. Frequent updates allow access to the latest medical and pharmacological trends. Approximately 375,000 records are added yearly.
